ABOUT OUR TOURS

We’ve been running tours in the Surrey Hills and beyond since 2012, and have put together some awesome routes for customers over the years based on routes both here and in Europe that we’ve been riding for decades.

We’ve ridden every inch of every trail, so we know exactly what to expect, and where to take you so you get the most out of your ride.

Don’t spend your precious time getting lost and scratching your head over out of date OS Maps or tracks downloaded from the internet, get the very most out of  your ride time as we show you around the fantastic Surrey Lanes.

We guide, you ride!

HALF DAY TOUR

Our Classic Surrey Loop – a morning’s Green Lane Tour departing from and returning to Rykas Café near Dorking.

We’ll guide you through some of the best byways and back roads Surrey has to offer, from spectacular views from the highest point in the South East of England, along forest trails and splashing through woodland streams, there’s no better way to spend a morning than getting your bike dirty!

Mud, gravel, clay, chalk, sand and water – this perfect flowing route has it all, suitable for novices through to experienced riders on small trail bikes or large adventure bikes.*

*Routes are tailored to the skill level of the group or individual and to the weather and ground conditions on the day, making the most of the lanes and keeping road work to a minimum. In order to minimise disruption to other users of the lanes we operate a maximum group size of 6 riders.

Approximate Mileage: 54 miles*

Approximate RIDE TIME: 3 hours

  • Well first off you'll need a bike! This can be anything from a Honda XR125 to a BMW R1200 GS Adventure, but choose your ride according to your skill level. Start with something small and light to accelerate your learning curve, then move on to a bigger more powerful machine.
  • Bear in mind that the green lanes are classed as roads so your machine must be fully road legal, taxed, MOT'd, insured and you must hold an appropriate driving licence. Rules of the road also apply on the lanes.
  • A good pair of motorcycle boots, waterproof ideally. These should be strong enough to protect your feet, ankles and shins from rocks and tree stumps... and possibly your bike falling on top of you! Motocross boots are ideal.
  • You'll also need a sturdy motorcycle jacket, trousers and gloves with all the armour in the relevant places. Textile gear is preferable to leathers (you'll never get them clean again!) to protect you from overhanging branches, brambles and the inevitable tumble.
  • A few essential tools and some basic knowledge to carry out any running repairs necessary to your own bike as we go. An AA or RAC Membership card is also sometimes also useful!
  • Carrying some water is also a good idea – trail riding can be very strenuous, especially if it's your first time, and you can easily become dehydrated
  • It’s always worth carrying a freezer bag or two to act as waterproof cases for wallets, phones, cameras or anything else you need to keep dry
